Pemako Project
I encourage you to contribute to two charities that benefit Tibeans.
One is Rokpa which was founded by Akong Rinpoche the Tibetan teacher who co-founded the Kagye Samyé Ling Tibetan Center. It is an entirely nonpolitical organization, the aim of which is to help improve the lives of those in need in Tibet and Nepal, through providing education and other much needed facilities.
The other is the Pemako Project which funds educational and medical projects in the Pemako region of North West India where Ven. Lopon P. Ogyan Tanzin Rinpoche was born and still lives.
The picture of the tigers is from a postcard which is sold to raise money for Rokpa. The original image is a mural on a wall at one of the temples at Samyé Ling in southern Tibet.
